
BotBlox SPEBlox 10G is the world's first 10GBASE-T1 to 10GBASE-T converter, achieving 10Gbps speeds on a single pair of balanced shielded twisted pair wires up to 15 meters. This design uses the latest, bleeding edge silicon along with Single Pair Ethernet technology, to achieve speeds that were previously not possible. This media converter will be in a compact, rugged form factor, designed to bring cabling weight reductions to SWaP limited applications such as UAVs and industrial robotics.
Why use SPEBlox 10G?
SPEBlox 10G, using 10GBASE-T1, provides a far superior high bandwidth alternative to USB3.0 for robotics and industrial applications because:
- 10GBASE-T1 only requires two conductors for 10Gbps speeds, rather than six conductors for USB3.0. This means thinner cables and smaller internal volumes.
- 10GBASE-T1 is automotive ethernet; it is designed for use in noisy environments, in stark contrast to USB3.0 which is notoriously unreliable in industrial/robotics applicaitons
- 10GBASE-T1 can achieve up to 15 meters, unlike USB3.0 which can only achieve up to 3 meters range.
