Puck Edge
BotBlox10G Edge Networking, Ridiculously Small
Puck Edge is high bandwidth, edge networking managed switch that provides rugged networking for edge AI and compute applications in harsh environments. Puck Edge provides 8 x 1GBASE-T and 3 x 10GBASE-T ethernet ports in a 68mm x 58mm x 22mm package; that's a footprint that has never been achieved before, smaller than a credit card!
With a rugged design, MIL-STD-810H qualified for -40°C to 85°C, a command line interface for management, and a maximum power consumption of only 11 Watts, Puck Edge is the most performant edge networking package for Size, Weight and Power limited applications.
Features
- 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T isolated ethernet ports
- 3 x 10GBASE-T isolated ethernet ports
- 68mm x 58mm x 22mm
- 11 Watts maximum power consumption
- Management Command Line interface for VLAN, LAG and Port Control
- Vibration tolerant Molex PicoClasp connectors
- Rugged 7075 (AA7075) Aluminum Chassis
Applications
Edge AI and computing demands faster and faster networking bandwidths, but existing network infrastructure is power hungry, bulky and not rugged to cope with the demands of modern mobile platforms like UAS and Satellites. We created Puck Edge to provide the world's most compact, rugged solution to edge networking problems. Simply nothing this small and rugged, while providing 10Gbps networking ability exists on the market.
By integrating 10GBASE-T ports directly into the Puck Edge, the need for 10G SFP modules is eliminated. Our Puck Maxi and UbiSwitch BaseBoard relied on SFP cages for 10G connectivity, which often required using 10G copper SFP modules, these are bulky, power-hungry, and not well-suited for rugged environments. While SFP ports offer flexibility for fiber connections, many applications simply require 10G copper. Puck Edge addresses this by embedding 10GBASE-T ports directly into its chassis, enabling straightforward, rugged, and efficient copper 10G connections.
